A group of friends who happened to be some of the planet’s best turntablists decided to form a crew — 20 years later, the World Famous Beat Junkies are still going strong. Composed of DJ Rhettmatic, DJ Babu, J-Rocc, DJ Shortkut, Mr. Choc, Melo-D, D-Styles, DJ What?!, Icy Ice, Curse, Symphony and DJ Havik, the squad is one of the most respected in their profession. The crew’s history and impact is traced in this short doc, from finding inspiration in Cerritos, CA to Rhett passing out of Green Latern rings to its prestigious members to the collective rockin’ clubs worldwide, both on their own and as a team. Along the way, luminaries such as DJ Jazzy Jeff, Q-Bert, A-Trak and Peanut Butter Wolf lend their thoughts on the DJ massive.
