Although we tend to gravitate toward more niche designers, Ikea‘s latest collection aimed at young city dwellers is worth a closer look. Dubbed “On the Move,” the limited-edition collection is explicitly designed for the increasing amount of young, creative urbanites faced with the challenge of small living spaces and uncertain rental terms. 51 pieces are included in total, with certain pieces created by recognizable designers including Matali Crasset, Rich Brilliant Willing and Mathias Hahn.
The collection was originally inspired by Ikea research which revealed that one in five urban dwellers now lives in a space smaller than 30 square meters. Thus, each piece is flexible and and can be moved around easily within the home to maximize the smallest of spaces.
Ikea’s “On the Move” collection will be available beginning April 1.
