D-NICE is a DJ, producer, rapper, photographer and true gentlemen. Growing up in the Bronx, D-Nice emerged as a rapper and producer in the late 80s as part of Boogie Down Productions (BDP) where he was mentored by the late DJ Scott La Rock and developed his talent as a teenager alongside rap legend KRS- One. He then began to expand his production by working solo with Queen Latifah. D-Nice is also credited as discovering Kid Rock, while producing his early work as well. In the 90s, D-Nice released two solo albums with Jive records, including the hit single "Call Me D-Nice," which reached the top of Billboards rap chart. In the late 00’s, inspired by his peers, Q-Tip, Mark Ronson, and DJ Cassidy, D-Nice begin to elevate himself as the world renowned DJ he is today. He’s since rocked parties on every corner of the globe with and for the likes of Stevie Wonder, Mariah Carey, Will Smith, Billy Joel, Rihanna, Prince, Kid Rock, Wiz Khalifa, Russell Simmons, Zac Posen and many more. He is also part of the highly respected NYC quarterly called “The Originals” which is an event made up of himself and DJ’s Clark Kent, Rich Medina, Stretch Armstrong & Tony Touch. But like any modern day renascence man, D-Nice has expanded his art beyond music in other avenues, such as visual art whereas photography has given him the chance to catalog his life and experiences along the way.
I am personally lucky enough to bring great artists that I truly respect to this amazing city of ours. That being said, The Joodlum Group and THE LODGE AT REDROCKS is very proud to have D-NICE on Saturday June 6th, alongside JEROME BAKER III and The Lodge resident, SHARKEY. Action starts at 8pm. NO COVER! Event Link HERE.
