After much discussion and many rumors as to what was going into the beloved space that once housed the H Street Playhouse, Frozen Tropics confirms that Yes! Organic Market will be the new lease holder. I believe this is a great move for the organic market chain, and possibly an even better benefit for the street. With Giant Food close to opening at the lower end of 3rd and H street, this will book end the strip with what was needed most, big name quality grocers.

We put together an event with the guys from the heavily anticipated H Street restaurant, IMPALA CANTINA for this upcoming Sunday afternoon 12pm-6pm in celebration of CINCO de MAYO. Think GIANT outdoor PIG ROAST with LIVE LATIN MUSIC, a DJ, beer and margaritas all in the spirit of an old Mexican styled family party.
I know most of us in the city have been patiently waiting for the full IMPALA restaurant to open since the 'winter season only' H street Tacos Impala stand ran last year. They've since obtained an AMAZING building right in the heart of the street and the build out is nearing final completion. Classic Mexican food in a one of a kind environment will soon be upon us.

Portugal The Man Team With Danger Mouse on Experimental 'Evil Friends' - New Song and Video Here
Last spring, two weeks and 10 songs into the recording process for their new album, Evil Friends, Portugal. The Man scrapped nearly everything they’d accomplished. “We were super excited about it,” bassist Zach Carothers tells us of scrapping all but two songs they recorded in El Paso, TX. Instead, they started from scratch with producer Brian “Danger Mouse” Burton, an opportunity Carothers describes as “not anything that we could turn down.” The result of the PTM-Danger Mouse collaboration is the band’s most accessible and radio-friendly material yet. Carl Walker, more commonly known as the Grammy nominated rapper and singer, KOKAYI has definitely received his fair share of critical acclaim and global recognition. But its a completely different thing to be recognized on such a grand scale as one of EBONY Magazine's coolest families in America.

’21 Jump Street’ Director Phil Lord Responds to Jay Z’s ‘Open Letter’
With all the talk surrounding Jay Z and Beyoncé’s trip to Cuba, the Hip Hop mogul responded to the talk and criticism with his controversial track called “Open Letter.”
But the chatter doesn’t stop there. “21 Jump Street” director Phil Lord (pictured), who is a son of a Cuban refugee, responded to Jay-Z’s track with an open letter of his own. It wasn’t very nice. Read the full letter HERE.
